Including Auricular and
Neuro (Scalp) - Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and improve function. This is done by inserting sterilized, stainless-steel needles (that are as fine as a human hair) into specific points located near or on the surface of the skin which have the ability to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions in order to treat a wide variety of illnesses.
Herbal Treatment
You will generally receive a mixture of several different herbs in a formula that has been tailored to your condition. Chinese herbs are extremely effective and normally have only mild side effects, however it is very important to tell me about all the medications and supplements you are currently taking so that we can avoid any unwanted interactions with your formula.
Cupping Treatment
15-30 min
Cupping is an ancient technique, used in many cultures, in which a special cup is applied to the skin and held in place by suction. The suction draws superficial tissue into the cup, which may either be left in place or moved along the body. Cupping brings fresh blood to the area and helps improve circulation. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. Traditional cupping, sometimes referred to as “fire cupping," uses heat to create a vacuum-like suction inside of glass cups.
Electro-acupuncture
15-30 min
Electro-acupuncture is an addition to acupuncture treatment whereby an electrical current is run from an electro machine through connecting cables and attached to the heads of acupuncture needles to assist in stimulating the muscle/fascia via differing electrotherapeutic methods. The frequency and intensity are adjusted according to the treatment plan, but the sensation is generally very subtle.
The muscles targeted contract, and are “reset”, providing pain relief. Increased blood flow to the treatment areas also allows healing to take place more easily. Sessions typically last no longer than 30 minutes.
Moxibustion
15 min
Moxibustion involves the heating of acupuncture points with smoldering mugwort herb (known as moxa). Moxibustion stimulates circulation, counteracts cold and dampness in the body, and promotes the smooth flow of blood and qi. This safe, non-invasive technique may be used alone, but it is generally used in conjunction with acupuncture treatment.
Neuro-acupuncture
30 min
Neuro-acupuncture is a technique that combines the tenets of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western scientific research regarding the function of the brain. Neuro-acupuncture has shown great promise in treating both acute and chronic nervous system disorders with very few side-effects. This treatment targets acupoints, both in the head and throughout the body, that correspond to your particular condition and insert thin needles to stimulate the body’s nervous system.
Conditions that can be treated with Neuro-Acupuncture: Stroke recovery, Paralysis, Parkinson’s disease, Bell’s palsy, Neuropathy, severe Migraine and more.
